Hey Reader,

There are so many things I’ve waited way too long to do in my business.

Emails I drafted and never sent. LinkedIn posts that lived in my notes app for actual years. Offers I held back on sharing because I wasn’t quite ready.

Sometimes I kick myself for not doing them sooner.

But when I do finally act? It’s always (magically) the right time.

I’ve definitely wrestled with perfectionism and I know it’s held both my businesses back at times. For ages, I rolled my eyes at “done is better than perfect”. I believe in doing things well. Why bother if you’re not going to give it a proper crack?

What I’ve (slowly) learned is most people aren’t watching that closely.

They’re not dissecting your CTA. They’re not mentally tallying your delivery hours against your offer price.

They’re just observing. Taking things in. And usually? They’re quietly impressed you had the confidence to share at all.

Take LinkedIn. I’ve been posting reasonably regularly for about 18 months now. But even still, I let things sit and marinate for at least 5-7 business months.

This post about destination socials? Half-drafted in my notes app for six months before I hit publish. Now it’s reached 3k people. Having it squirrelled away helped me build the confidence to share it when the timing felt right.

Same with Assembld (my other biz). I sent my very first subscriber email last week, but I first mapped out the structure and talked about it with my mentor back in February. That background work meant that when inspiration struck, I didn’t have to start from scratch. I could act.

I also spent years toying with the idea of niching Assembld into tourism and events. There are half-finished packages, pitch decks and offer pages scattered through my old folders. But now? I know it’s the right fit. And I have more direction than I’ve ever had.

What I'm really trying to say is background moves still count.

You don’t have to do it all now. And you don’t have to do it publicly.

The drafts. The outlines. The ideas you haven’t shared yet. They all add up.

And when you are ready, you’ll be glad they’re there.

Next week, we kick off our next round of virtual coworking (we’re keeping things business as usual for now). And I’ll be showing up with exactly that energy. No pressure, just space to do the work that matters, even if you’ve been sitting on it for months.

You’re always welcome to join us. But whether you do or not, I hope you take the time to work on something for future you this week. Squirrel it away in your notes app for the right time, because it will come.

Rach

P.S. Our body doubling content series is still rolling out. Head over and read the latest blog, The science of body doubling: Why working “together” works (even virtually). There's one more blog to come and a handful of social content (did you see the results of last week's poll?).

MEMBER WINS + FUN things

  • In our last email, we shared that Gab’s novel The Unexpected Mess of it All has been shortlisted for the ACT Literary Awards 2025. Well, SHE WON! Huge. So proud!
  • Velvet is hosting her next Noosa Small Business Series event tomorrow 10 July, and it’s a juicy one on AI and building your own AI agents. If you’re nearby, check it out!
  • Renee has been cruising for inspiration on the streets of Bologna. The quick jaunt was part of her dance mum duties and unfortunately not a months-long Euro summer.

What we're liking RN

Movies.

I’m just gonna (word) vomit all the reccs here today.

  • I’m in awe that most of 28 Days Later was filmed on an iPhone.
  • Wolfs with Geroge Clooney and Brad Pitt was top notch because how could it not be with those two paired up? (Yes, I’m an Oceans Eleven lover from wayyyyy back.) F1 was also good if you’re here for Brad Pitt.
  • Last night we watched Hardball which is an early Keanu classic and a slight tearjerker.
  • Warfare was incredible.
  • I don’t typically enjoy horrors or horror-adjacent but Nosferatu was 10/10, especially the casting.
  • And if you haven’t seen Anora or The Substance, go do that too.

We heart Coworking Days

Our next Coworking Days event is locked in for Wednesday 6 August, and tickets are almost gone. Everyone jumped right on it this time and we love that for them and us. Such a good group coming along! Two spots left.
